2013 Oscar Nominees Announced

On behalf of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), Seth MacFarlane (Ted, "Family Guy) and Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider-Man) announced the nominees for the 85th Academy Awards.

"Lincoln" was nominated twelve times, including for Best Picture and Best Director. The biggest surprise was "Beasts of the Southern Wild," which received four nominations. "Beasts" star Quvenzhane Wallis is the youngest actress, 9-years-old, to be nominated for an Oscar. She will be competing for the Best Actress Oscar against Emmanuelle Riva, who is the older nominated actress at the age of 84.

While "Django Unchained," "Zero Dark Thirty" and "Argo" got a bunch of nominations, the films' directors Quentin Tarantino, Kathryn Bigelow and Ben Affleck were not nominated.

Academy Awards, which will be hosted by MacFarlane, will be presented on Sunday, February 24th, at the Dolby Theatre, and televised live by the ABC Television Network.
